Willem: TED price winner JR:  JR creates pervasive art that spreads uninvited on buildings of Parisian slums, on walls in the Middle East, on broken bridges in Africa or in favelas in Brazil. People in the exhibit communities, those who often live with the bare minimum, discover something absolutely unnecessary but utterly wonderful. And they don’t just see it, they make it. Elderly women become models for a day; kids turn into artists for a week. Andrew: My complacent challenger, from the “A league”, made a bet that there was no way he was going to be beaten in 2011. You may know this “A league” challenger better as G1, aka Gary Meyers. I’m pleased to say that after only 2 months of practice, 3 wins now have been placed under my name for the month of March alone. If you ask him, he’ll say all 3 times were a fluke, but don’t worry, he’ll be brewing the coffee for the office soon enough.  — Thank you, Mr. Meyers.

Chris:  While I don’t like natural disasters, I do like the fact that today’s technology can actually help those in need instead of just spewing out the same news coverage over and over again. For example, check out Google’s Crisis Response page complete with real time updates and a “Person Finder” to help locate those who were affected by the massive quake.

Willem: The Noun Project: A bold idea with a simple mission statement: “Sharing, celebrating and enhancing the world’s visual language.”  Essentially, the Project aims to collect, organize and add to the universal library of symbols and images that make up our visual language.

Andrew: The Husky’s pulling away with a win against the Cougs in the PAC10 Tourney. Gotta give my hometown pride to UW.
